Sightings for Thursday, September, 22:

A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was seen on Cathedral Trail in Stanley Park, about
100 feet from the main road, in an area of swampy hemlock forest. Also in
the area were 2 VAUX'S SWIFTS
..
Three TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRES were on Mount Strachan in the Cypress Bowl area.

Fourteen TURKEY VULTURES were over Point Roberts and a further 3 TURKEY
VULTURES were over Marine Drive and 49th in Vancouver.

One PEREGRINE, an AMERICAN KESTREL and a BAIRD'S SANDPIPER were between 96th
and 104th in Delta, and 2 MARBLED GODWITS could still be found at the
compensation lagoon on the Tsawwassen ferry jetty.

Wednesday, September 21:

A female WESTERN BLUEBIRD was on the fence on the south side of Vancouver
Airport, west of the coastguard, in an out-of-bounds area.

Tuesday, September 19:

A ROSS'S GOOSE was seen with Canada Geese at the horse farm on Sea Island.
This may be the same bird that was seen there in the spring.

The GREAT EGRET was again seen at Brydon Lagoon, which is at 198th Street
and
53rd Avenue in Langley. Also in the area was a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE.

Two OSPREY were seen at the foot of 112th in Delta.

There was a fallout of passerines on Burnaby Mountain Park, a new birding
hotspot. Some of the birds seen included CASSIN'S VIREO and TOWNSEND'S
WARBLERS.

The south jetty at Iona had 2 HORNED LARKS, and the Tsawwassen Jetty still
had 2 MARBLED GODWITS.

Reifel had the first flock of 30 SNOW GEESE, 1 GREEN HERON, 2 PEREGRINES, an
AMERICAN BITTERN and 3 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS.

In late reports for Saturday: 2 LEWIS'S WOODPECKERS were on Heritage
Mountain
in Burnaby, which is at the corner of Parkside Drive and Ravine Drive.

One WHITE PELICAN was on the rockwall of Steveston on the Fraser River.

Monday, September 18:

A BROWN PELICAN was seen from the tip of the south jetty at Iona Island and
the GREAT EGRET was at Brydon Lagoon.

The 2 immature GREEN HERONS were at Ambleside Park, and a HEERMAN'S GULL was
in the Pinetree Shopping Village parking lot in Coquitlam.
