I birded for about three hours at the Toppenish Wildlife Refuge mostly from
observation platform, ( they have started flooding the area North of the
platform) and around the Refuge Headquarters. I then drove along Pumphouse
Rd., to Lateral "C", to Marion Drain, to Old Goldendale Rd, and back to
refuge along Pumphouse Rd. The foloowing birds were seen.

Six (6) SANDHILL CRANES were first seen directly North of the Refuge

dozen YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS were working the trees around the headquarters
building (mostly AUDUBON'S with a few MYRTLE?S mixed in). The 4 or 5 SAVANNA
SPARROWS were seen on the West side of Lateral "C" just North of Toppenish
Creek. The GREAT EGRET was seen South of Marion Drain near Lateral "A"
around the same pond as earlier in the month.

Total number of species seen: 42
