It may seem a bit early for Christmas Bird Count Stuff,
but given the deadlines for news letter publications, consider
the following....

BIG NEWS!!! As of the 101st Christmas Bird Count, the count period
will be fixed to calendar dates, instead of varying each year. Beginning
in December, 2000, the Official CBC period will always run from December
14th through January 5th. This will ensure that compilers and
participants
always know the dates of the Count period, and should usually include
an extra weekend to conduct CBC's.

According to my calendar:

No, extra weekend this year, definitely extra days. And though
this may not be an incentive, I will volunteer to come count for
any compiler within 150 miles of my house (in Astoria, OR), if
they choose a weekday.

I will also be compiling the usual webpage of count dates.
