Sightings for Wednesday, September 27:

A WHITE-HEADED WOODPECKER was seen on Tuesday in the Okanagan at the
Hawthorne Mountain Vineyards, which is along the Green Lake Road,
5-kilometers south of Okanagan Falls. The bird is not coming to a feeder,
but
was seen on a snag, before it flew away.

A PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER was seen at the southwest corner of the Robert's
Bank
jetty, along with a RED KNOT and a HEERMANN'S GULL.

A NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was at an undisclosed location near Lost Lagoon in
Stanley Park.

Two GREEN HERONS could still be found at the lagoon at Ambleside Park in
West
Vancouver.

There were no reports for Tuesday.

Monday, September 25:
On Mount Strachan, at Cypress Provincial Park, a juvenile GOSHAWK was seen
playing tag with a COMMON RAVEN. Also in the area were 1 TOWNSEND'S
SOLITAIRE and 1 HERMIT THRUSH.

Point Robert's had 2 PARASITIC JAEGERS and a RHINOCEROS AUKLET.

An OSPREY was at Blackie Spit.

Out of town, at Neck Point Park in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, they had 1
Immature GLAUCOUS GULL and 2 Immature BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, birds that
should also be looked for on this side of the Strait.

Sunday, September 24:
The NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH in Stanley Park was relocated at the junction of
Cathedral and Lee Trails, where it was sitting on some cut logs. Also in
Stanley Park were 7 RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKERS and 1 WHITE-THROATED SPARROW at

Beaver Lake.

The MARBLED GODWIT and the WILLET were at the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty.

An AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER was in a large flock of BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS at
the west shore terminal on the north side of the Robert's Bank jetty.

Saturday, September 23:
One adult white morph WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was across from the wooden
bridge, just to the west of Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park.

One STILT SANDPIPER was with a flock of DOWITCHERS in front of the mansion,
west of 96th Street in Delta, and a RUDDY TURNSTONE was at Beach Grove
Lagoon
in Tsawwassen.

Two LAPLAND LONGSPURS and a HORNED LARK were on the Iona south jetty.
