Hi all

I just though that I would pop in with a short note. I had a full
daylight trip up one side of the Fraser Canyon and back the other and
in the canyon itself the Spring relocation of Juncos was in full
swing. In certain places they would come up in waves in front of the
locomotive. Either that or there would be a small flock around each
curve. A best guesstimate would be 500+ birds on both sides of the
river along 40 miles of track.

Robins were also moving through in large numbers. It was not unusual
to see the odd flock with 20 or 30 in it however the larger flocks
were mainly out on the flats of the upper Fraser Valley. A few days
back there may have only been 1 or 2 in the canyon. There were also 4
or 5 good sized flocks of Pine Siskins and a pair of Band-tailed
pigeons indicating that their numbers should start increasing as they
move through the canyon as well..

Sorry Diann, not one Turkey Vulture, yet.
