Greetings

Field Trip report, 2 April 2001, Lake Tye Park, Snohomish County

Greater White-fronted Goose - one leucistic adult with Canadas on Lake Tye. A white bird with a brownish tinge, brownish strongest on the neck and head. With definite "white-front" on the face. Pinkish bill. Some dark blotching on the belly. I considered a hybrid with Snow Goose but the wing tip are same color as the rest of the wing - whiteish. At a distance the bird looks quite white. Of interest, I spotted a bird just like this last May at the Everett waterfront.

Turkey Vulture - One in flight very low over the lake.

Good Birding,
David Beaudette
