Went looking for Sno. Valley Vultures this p.m. where they're often seen near
Falls City, but couldn't find them so I went north past Nestle/Carnation
farms and Sikes lk. where I watched a cow give birth yesterday. Amongst the
60+cows and calves were three Bald eagles (one adult) making a big fuss. I
wasn't able to see what they were ripping and tearing, sometimes squabbling
over but mostly sharing. They were joined by a fourth juvenile and continued
flapping about and dining..... at the vultures expense, I suspect
Had this been Alaska or BC I would not have been surprised by this number of
Balds feeding on salmon, but I'd not seen this show before, here in the
valley. Is this common?
