There was a PURPLE MARTIN near the grain silo-elevator complex at the n. end
of the downtown Seattle, I believe this is part of the Cargill operation at
Pier 86, seen at 4 p.m. yesterday. The bird may have been casing the site
out for nesting possibilities. Pretty slow at the Everett STP thereafter:
good count on Ruddy Ducks but just a single 1st-winter Thayer's Gull among
4-5 gull sp. at the circulating ponds. The martin was about the fourth I've
had through the years in downtown.
