Sightings for Thursday, April 5th

At the Iona Outer Ponds were 2 BARN SWALLOWS, 2 CLIFF SWALLOWS and 1
ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW. Nearby, on the airport foreshore was a SNOWY OWL and
on Templeton Street on Sea Island was an AMERICAN KESTREL.

Near UBC on SW Marine Drive was a BARRED OWL.

Out of town in Harrison Hot Springs, there were 4 TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS and
an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER.

Sightings for Wednesday, April 4th

Spring migrants are beginning to increase in number, with ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLERS being seen at Cecil Green at UBC, a SAVANNAH SPARROW at Deer Lake,
a BARN SWALLOW at Eagle Ridge Park, Coquitlam and an OSPREY in Port Moody.

The PALM WARBLER has been present for the past two days near Deering Island
at the end of Carrington Street in the Southlands area of Vancouver. The
bird was seen and heard singing at 8:30 this morning.

At Maplewood Conservation Area was a SPOTTED SANDPIPER. 2 RING-NECKED DUCKS
were at Colony Farm and at the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty were 5 BLACK
OYSTERCATCHERS

Sightings for Tuesday, April 3rd

The BRAMBLING continues to be seen at 1961 Berkeley Avenue in North
Vancouver. Birders are reminded not to arrive before 8am. The bird is most
active in the morning. Access to the yard is via the gate to the right of
the house. Since this bird has been seen daily for several weeks, a status
update will be on this alert weekly unless the bird moves on.

At the Iona Ponds today were an arriving BARN SWALLOW and a PEREGRINE
FALCON. In Surrey, at 264th St. and 84th Ave, were a MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD and
an AMERICAN KESTREL.

At Willband Creek Park in Abbotsford were 2 RING-NECKED DUCKS and 2
REDHEADS.

Sightings for Monday, April 2nd

On Sea Island, a TURKEY VULTURE was seen in over flight at Grauer Road,
while a WESTERN MEADOWLARK was at the Iona outer parking lot.

A NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW was at the Burnaby Lake Rowing Pavilion. A
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was seen on the Richmond West Dyke at the west end
of Williams Road and an AMERICAN KESTREL was seen in the 160th Street and
74th Avenue area of Surrey.

The White Rock Pier was the location for several BRANT and 2 MARBLED
MURRELET.
