Scott, thanks for that purple martin report; I've got nest boxes and gourds
pretty close to the grain terminal, just to the north of Myrtle Edwards Park
on pilings by pier 90. They're readily visible from the bike trail, across
from Seattle Photoworks. Those were installed just over a year ago, but have
yet to be occupied. Maybe this will be the year!

Other boxes along the Seattle waterfront are just west of Harbor Island, and
up the Duwamish River at Terminal 105 and Kellogg Island; additional boxes
were installed at these sites about a month ago.

The boxes at the south end of Shilshole were cleaned and plugged just a week
ago, to keep house sparrows out. If I get more martin reports in the
vicinity, I'll open those boxes as soon as the tide and my schedule permit.

Boeing Creek, Picnic Point, and the Edmonds oil dock area are other sites
I'm hoping martins might utilize.
