Spent this week end in Kittitas, Grant and Adams counties looking for some
good birds. I was not disappointed.

TRICOLORED BLACKBIRD- Easily 12 males at the Wilson Creek site. Also saw 4
males at the Para Ponds north of Othello.
WHITE PELICAN- Over 60 at the Wilson Creek site mentioned above.
FERRUGINOUS HAWK- A juvenile on a pole where 22nd leaves Hwy 28 near Wilson
Creek in Grant County.
SAGE SPARROW, SAGE THRASHER, BREWER'S SPARROW- At the Quilomene Wildlife
area near Vantage in Kittitas Co.
BURROWING OWL- 2 pair at Hwy 283 exit from I90 eastbound, NE of George in
Grant county.
SANDHILL CRANE- Columbia NWR, Crab Creek Rd, Desert WRA
AMERICAN AVOCETS- Hwy 26 at a bridge in Grant County near the Adams Co.
line.
BLACK-NECKED STILTS- Dodson Road and Frenchman Hills Rd and other places.
LONG-BILLED CURLEW-Seep Lakes, Desert WRA
EARED GREBE- Para Ponds

Other returning migrants included CASPIAN TERN, LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE, and
WHITE-THROATED SWIFT.

It's a great time to bird these counties.
