Salutations from Bainbridge,

On Sunday mordning I had to drop my good wife at the airport so I
took the opportunity to visit the U.W.'s Montlake Fill. I parked at the
E-5 Lot and went toward the cattails on the SW corner. I hadn't walked
more than a few feet toward the lake when a Bittern flushed in front of
me. A few moments later another Bittern flushed and then 2 Snipe! Other
birds of note: Tree Swallow 4 Violet-green Swallow 30 Cliff Swallow 1
Savannah Sparrow 1 Common Teal (Green-winged) 1 male Palm Warbler 1

The Palm Warbler was in the usual spot by the pond at the SE
corner of the E-5 parking lot. It has molted into breeding plumage and
now sports a classy rufous crown, bright-yellow chin and throat, and
bright-yellow undertail coverts. Spring is here!
