I sent the message below yesterday from my yahoo e-mail address and it was
rejected and returned. I copied and pasted it below for resending from the
"right" e-mail address:

Went over to Pullman last weekend. Going over on
Thursday I took the old highway from Ellensburg to
Vantage. Exactly at the summit a roadkill was seen.
I backed up and fount it to be a first year Northern
Shrike.

At Gingko State Park, overlooking the river, on
Thursday, there were mostly V-G Swallows, with a few
Trees. Coming home on Sunday, there were also a
couple White-throated Swifts. This either pinpoints
their arrival as April 6th to 8th, or maybe it just
means that I missed them on Thursday.

Just east of Cle Elum, the power-pole Ospreys were
mating on their nest yesterday when we were driving
by.
