A fat bumblebee in the red-flowering currant caught my eye. A moment
later, a male Anna's hummingbird zoomed in for his share. The bird fed
about ten inches from my face, at eye level -- what a treat!

This was yesterday, at 5:00 p.m., on the path between the Montlake parking
lot and the on-campus garage, close to the Burke-Gilman trail. There is a
row of currant bushes, alternating with bushes that have a heavenly-smelling
white flower ball. Does anyone know what this is, by the way?
