This is the Vancouver Bird Alert for Friday, April 13th, evening update.

The featured bird is MARBLED GODWIT

Sightings for Friday, April 13th

At Cecil Green at UBC, there were 25 AMERICAN PIPITS in over flight as well
as 10 more at the Iona Ponds. Also at Iona, there are at least 150,000
scoters massed at the south jetty tip.

At Beach Grove in Tsawwassen were a GREEN-WINGED TEAL of the Eurasian race
as well as a hybrid Eurasian/North American race. Also here was a MARBLED
GODWIT.

At Colony Farm in Port Coquitlam were a PEREGRINE FALCON, a RING-NECKED
DUCK, a COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, 2 AMERICAN BITTERN and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK.

A TURKEY VULTURE was seen over Tynehead Park in Surrey

Sightings for Thursday, April 12th

At Beach Grove in Tsawwassen, there were 4 WESTERN SANDPIPERS

Sightings for Wednesday, April 11th

In a late report for Tuesday, April 10th, a male BRAMBLING was seen on
Kennedy Street near Kilby Provincial Park, but has not been relocated.

The BRAMBLING which has been at Berkley Drive in North Vancouver was seen
today but had not been present for several days prior.

At Iona today was a CASPIAN TERN on the South Jetty while an arrival
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER was seen at the Iona Ponds.

In the Chilliwack area, a first summer ICELAND GULL has been present for two
days at the Bailey Landfill. Near the intersection of Banford and McGuire in
Chilliwack was a EURASIAN WIGEON, a hybrid AMERICAN/EURASIAN WIGEON, a
CINNAMON TEAL and an AMERICAN KESTREL.

At Grant Narrows Park in Pitt Meadows were 4 COMMON YELLOWTHROAT and an
OSPREY.
At Skeena Street in East Vancouver, a MERLIN was seen.
