Notes: Weather was calm and clear. The ocean was reasonably flat.
The BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE numbers are probably an undercount as
it became difficult to know whether birds were circling or coming
by. The number of SURF SCOTERS was much larger then expected with
flocks of 10 to 50 flying through toward the end of the watch.
The TREE SWALLOWS were clearly coming in off the ocean.

A single LAPLAND LONGSPUR in nearly complete alternate plumage was
with SAVANNA SPARROWS (including one large-billed form) on the
jetty near the shorebird flats singing bits and pieces of its song.

Mike Patterson Alas, to wear the mantle of Galileo,
Astoria, OR it is not enough to be persecuted
celata at pacifier.com by an unkind establishment,
you must also be right.
