Hi,
Now that the swans have migrated back north we are left with the
aftermath of the lead poisoning die-off of trumpeter swans. The Trumpeter
Swan Society and WDFW are working together to do the necropsies on the more
than 150 dead swans.
Volunteers are needed to help with this effort of data collection. We
have jobs from record keeping to gizzard washing, from clean to dirty
depending on your interest. Three veterinarians, from North Carolina State
University, will be leading the effort.
The location is Bellingham. The dates are Sun. May 20 through Thurs.
May 24. We need people to commit for one day and more if you can.
Please contact Martha Jordan at (425)787-0258.
