I just returned from 10 days in Kansas, and did a double take when a
Mourning Dove landed in my neighbor's front yard in West Seattle. I really
thought I was seeing things since this has never happened in my 8 years of
living in this part of the city. I watched the bird for a long time before
he was encouraged to "get outta Dodge" by a territorial Robin.
