Subject: Juv. Anna's in Ballard (?)

Afternoon,

I had what looked like a Juvenile Anna's Hummingbird at my feeder this noon,
there was no spotting of any kind on the neck and the breast was fairly
pale. It made several trips to the feeder and spent quite a bit of time
checking out the yard. I ate my lunch on the back porch while it flew from
tree to tree and branch to branch, it hovered around the chain link fence,
even landing on top of it once. It checked out the dandelions and other
weeds in what is supposed to be a vegetable garden. The last time I saw it it
hovered at the garage door, even checking out the handle before it moved out
and flew up the alley. Pretty cool lunchtime entertainment.

I thought this would be early, but Sibley says Feb - Sep and they can fly in
about 21 days. The female(s) that were here this winter made her last daily
visit about Feb 26, daily sightings since Nov 21.
