Tonight my family and I were driving to Moses Lake at about 6:15pm when I
looked to the side of the road and noticed hundreds of birds flying from
near ground level to about 50 feet up. My first glance I thought swallows,
but caught the thought and identified the birds as sparrows. I could not ID
them at 60 MPH but no doubt they were sparrows. What I have not let you in
on was at that time we were hit by a isolated wind and rain storm. I found
this a neat sight, I do not think the sparrows would share my joy. I had
not seen anything like this since I had left the east coast where fall outs
happen as often as storms. Just thought I would share this unusual event.

ps- I told my wife as we drove on " I guess this means I should get out
tomarrow" She replied "as if you were not anyway". She is not a birder.
