Original plan was to take a group from one of the Audubon branches birding
today, crossing the border to see the "OWL" raptor rehab center twenty
minutes' drive north in Delta, then back to Lummi Flats. But other
commitments intervened, not the least of which was the huge FTAA rally at
the Peace Arch (and yep, the border got closed, though at the truck route
things were moving briskly with, supposedly, not much waiting). The
second part of the trip went off anyway with substitute leaderrship (thanks
to Bob Sundstrom? Or to whomever took over).

The wedding ceremony on the Blaine spit was witnessed by some SURF SCOTERS
and at least one COMMON LOON.
