Lately I have been noticing Killdeer in my gravel driveway every evening
when I come home from work. They usually nest in our neighbors horse
pasture. This evening a bird flushed from the edge of the driveway and my
investigation found a shallow, circular excavation in the gravel, lined with
just a few twigs and holding four speckled eggs.
