Mon Apr 23 we had a singing SWAINSON'S THRUSH at our house. We also had a
possible SWTH at our house Sun Apr 15. Last year I believe we had our first
Swainson's May 12.

Sat Apr 21 at our house we had a singing PURPLE FINCH, and saw a
RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER entering its nest.
Sun Apr 22 at our house we had our first AMERICAN GOLDFINCH, a male in full
breeding plumage, and 2 female PURPLE FINCH eating sunflower seeds.
Mon Apr 23 we had a male and female DOWNY WOODPECKER, our first female
GOLDFINCH, a CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEE collecting nesting material (a
different bird than the one nesting in the bluebird box) and the two
HARRIER. The female flew quickly by, and a while later the male flew up very
high and circled, then eventually dove down.
Today Tue Apr 24 we had our first BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD (a male) at our
house.
