Sightings for Monday, April 23rd

In the trees adjacent to Lost Lagoon in Vancouver were a NASHVILLE WARBLER
and 2 WILSON'S WARBLERS.

At 230th and Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge was a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW
while at Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver was an AMERICAN
KESTREL.

At Brunswick Point were 250 SNOW GEESE, a MERLIN and a PEREGRINE FALCON.

Sightings for Sunday, April 22nd

A morning bird walk at Reifel Refuge was highlighted with 3 AMERICAN
BITTERNS and several BARN SWALLOWS.

There were 4 SANDHILL CRANES off Hwy 91, between 64th Avenue and Hwy 10
while a YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was seen at Serpentine Fen.

Sightings for Saturday, April 21st

50 WHIMBREL were noted in the 8th Avenue and 184th Street area of South
Surrey. Also in Surrey, at Sunnyside Woods were 2 HERMIT THRUSHES. Another
HERMIT THRUSH was seen on Burnaby Mountain.

At Campbell Valley Park were 2 PACIFIC SLOPE FLYCATCHERS, 1 TOWNSEND'S
WARBLER and 3 BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS.

A survey of Terra Nova in Richmond tallied a LONG-EARED OWL, 2 PEREGRINE
FALCONS and a SORA. A SORA was also noted at Cheam Wetlands in Chilliwack.

A male RING-NECKED DUCK was at Lost Lagoon and at Beach Grove in Tsawwassen
there was an unusually high count of 305 dowitchers, most or all of which
were SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS.

Out of town on the Sunshine Coast, there was a SAGE THRASHER at Port
Stalashen, at the foot of Field Road in Wilson Creek, between Gibsons and
Sechelt.

Sightings for Friday, April 20th

A trip to Serpentine Fen produced 13 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, a
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD, a CLIFF SWALLOW and 12 BARN SWALLOWS. In West
Vancouver was a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE.
