Hi tweets,

I spent an absolutely wonderful hour and a half
birding the Montlake Fill this morning. The weather
was beautiful, and the birds did not dissapoint
either. I had 62 species, highlighted by 7 species of
Shorebirds and 5 species of Warblers.

Yesterday's Short-billed Dowitcher remains at the main
pond. I couldn't find him at first, but eventually,
he was very accomodating and let me have some nice
looks. There were two Greater Yellowlegs also present
on the main pond, as well as about 50 peeps. The
peeps were about 2/3 Least Sandpiper and 1/3 Western
Sandpiper. Also present was a very surprising
Semi-palmated Plover. Great looks at this bird, as
well as at several Killdeer and a single Snipe.

As far as Warblers go, I had 3 Yellow Warblers and
several Common Yellowthroats. The Palm Warbler was
still present, and there were several Yellow-rumped
Warblers as well. I also had a single Orange-crowned
Warbler singing in the trees north of the main pond.
It appeared to be celata rather than Lutescens...

The only other things that I would say were especially
noteworthy was a second pair of Cinnamon Teal is now
present as well as a lingering male Ruddy Duck. A
single pipit was also present this morning. Vaux's
Swifts are back... Interesting since when I reported
some on the 25th of March, I said that they seemed
about a month early, and now on the 25th of April, I
have my first sighting since.
