Hello Tweets,

My mother and I birded a few hours today in south Kitsap Co., mainly in
search of dragonflies at two locations, as we also observed several bird
species at Square and Wicks Lake, with both locations being north of the
South Port Orchard Airport, and west of Hwy.16. Three species of dragonfly
were noted, despite the minor wind, at times, including:

SWIFT FORKTAIL(1 at Square lake)
PACIFIC FORKTAIL(relatively good numbers at Square Lake)
BOREAL BLUET(Wicks Lake)

Notable bird species at Square Lake State Park, accessed off of SW Lake
Flora Rd., off of Hwy.16 included:

1 Pied-billed Grebe
2 pair of Wood Ducks
1 Pileated Woodpecker
1 singing BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER

A generous walk around the west shore of Wicks Lake, which is south of
Square Lake, included:

1 calling Cooper's Hawk
1 Hairy Woodpecker
2 PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHERS
2 Orange-crowned Warblers
1 pair of MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLERS
1 singing WILSON'S WARBLERS
1 CHIPPING SPARROW
12 Red Crossbills

Good birding,

Ruth and Patrick Sullivan
