Sightings for Thursday, April 26th

The NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD has again been seen at its Port Moody location.
Instructions are included with the April 25th report.

Among numerous migrating passerines were BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS at
Trout Lake in Vancouver, a TOWNSEND'S WARBLER in Chilliwack and
WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS in Abbotsford and Maple Ridge. Those wishing to view
the Maple Ridge WHITE-THROATED SPARROW at the feeder it has been frequenting
are asked to call the homeowner, Cathleen, at 463-4668 to make arrangements.

Three MERLINS were seen again in the Holly Park area of Surrey.

At Iona, the count of YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS in the North Outer Pond is up
to 3, while near the second shelter of the Iona South Jetty, there were 2
EARED GREBES and a CLARK'S GREBE.

Out of town on the Sunshine Coast, the SAGE THRASHER is still being seen at
the bottom of Field Road in Port Slalashen in Wilson Creek.

In late reports for April 24th, at Campbell Valley Park were a BARRED OWL
and a PACIFIC SLOPE FLYCATCHER. At Burnaby Lake was a Lapland Longspur and
at Inlet Park in Port Moody was a GREEN HERON.

Sightings for Wednesday, April 25th

The NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD continues to be seen in a yard behind Ioco Road in
Port Moody. Directions are included in the April 24th sightings.

In the 8th Ave and Hwy 15 area of Surrey were 50 WHIMBRELS. There were two
more WHIMBRELS at Blackie Spit.

There was a major fallout of migrants today, especially warblers. At Queen
Elizabeth Park, there were numerous reports of LINCOLN'S SPARROWS,
BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS, TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS, WILSON'S WARBLERS,
PACIFIC SLOPE FLYCATCHERS and HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHERS. A RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER
was also at this location.

WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were reported from QE Park and also in Maple Ridge.

A NASHVILLE WARBLER was seen in the Harrison area, while in Chilliwack,
there was a WARBLING VIREO and a BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER.

At Lost Lagoon were 3 RING-NECKED DUCKS and a LINCOLN'S SPARROW.

In a late report for Monday, April 23rd, there was a MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER
at Queen Elizabeth Park and BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS and TOWNSEND'S
WARBLERS at Cecil Green. At the Iona Ponds was a SEMIPALMATED PLOVER in
over flight while at the Iona South Jetty there were 5 COMMON TERNS.

Sightings for Tuesday, April 24th

A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was seen in a yard behind Ioco Road in Port Moody. To
access the area, travel west on Ioco Road to Bentley, where you turn left
and then turn right at Alderside. Follow Alderside for 1.4 kilometers until
you reach the 1100 block. Here you will find cement stairs leading up to
railroad tracks. Walk 30 meters east along the tracks. The bird was seen in
a pine in a backyard uphill from the tracks. Please be respectful of the
residents and of course watch for trains.

At the Iona Corridor today were a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, a MACGILLIVRAY'S
WARBLER, a BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER and a male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD. At
the Iona South Jetty were a HORNED LARK and 3 COMMON TERNS.

Another male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was seen on the west side of Queen
Elizabeth Park as well as NASHVILLE WARBLERS. At Cecil Green were several
HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHERS.

BARN SWALLOWS were noted in Steveston and in the Holly Park area of Surrey
were 3 MERLINS and an OSPREY.

Sightings for Monday, April 23rd

In the trees adjacent to Lost Lagoon in Vancouver were a NASHVILLE WARBLER
and 2 WILSON'S WARBLERS.

At 230th and Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge was a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW
while at Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver was an AMERICAN
KESTREL.

At Brunswick Point were 250 SNOW GEESE, a MERLIN and a PEREGRINE FALCON.
