Just returned from visiting friends in the Methow Valley. They live outside
Winthrop a few hundred yards from the river, in mixed Ponderosa and scrub
habitat. Access to the forested north slopes is nearby. Here is the list
from a day and a half of birding, entirely on foot.

Calliope hummingbirds were abundant, especially in the draws where the
serviceberry bushes were in bloom. Overnight brought a fall of migrants, as
Nashville Warblers and Ruby Crowned Kinglets seemed to be everywhere on
Sunday morning.
