Tweeters,
The 4/28 Protection Island cruise was the final trip of the Spring. perhaps
the most notable event was the highly expected return of the Double Crested
Cormorants to their nests on the ridge top of the island. On the prior
Saturday (4/21) we noted a mature bald eagle on the nests which caused the
cormorants to be be bunched up on the ridgeline approx. 200 yards west of
their nests.
