Today I went to Jetty Island on the incoming tide from 12:30 to 3:45 I did
not see the Little Gull or as far as that goes any Bonapart's. I was there
on sat and a couple of birders had seen it in the lagoon and told the ranger
it was looking pretty raggedy. I missed it that day. While I was there today
Wed Aug 1 the rangers had told me a dead bird was found that looked like the
bird. Before I could see it a couple of birder's had taken it off the island
to a master birder for positive id. Who ever this is if they could let us
know on tweeters so a lot of us will not make trips to Jetty Island to look
for it. From the description the ranger told me it sure sounds like the
bird. That's to bad if it's true for the bird, as well as all the birder's
who tried to see it like myself and got skunked. Maybe this is just a
Bonapart's who died. Hopefully the result's get posted. Thank You Brad
