Wdnesday, August 1, 4:16 PM - Hello, this is Craig Kemper, 206-789-9255
reporting for Tuesday, July 31st. In Skagit County on the Samish Flats at
West 90, in the first pond SW of the parking lot were two WILSON'S
PHALAROPE, 3 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 12 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, with about 30 LEAST
SANDPIPERS and 15 WESTERN SANDPIPERS. Moore Road Pond on Fir Island 1
SPOTTED SANDPIPER with 2 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 5 LEAST SANDPIPERS and a couple
KILDEER. At the Jensen Access of the Skagit Wildlife Management Area were 1
PECTORAL SANDPIPER, 2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 15 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, and a
handfull of LEAST SANDPIPER and some BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER with one juvenile
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD. In Island County at Crockett Lake on Whidbey Island
I had 2 LESSER YELLOWLEGS with one BAIRD'S SANDPIPER, 2 SEMI-PALMATED
SANDPIPERS, 36 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER, many SEMI-PALMATED PLOVER, KILDEER,
WESTERN & LEAST SANDPIPERS. Thank You.

Thursday, August 2, 11:50 AM - Steve Dang, 206-368-6887. Yesterday, August
1st, on Jetty Island, there were pretty good numbers of LEAST and WESTERN
SANDPIPERS, about 200 of each, 60 SEMI-PALMATED PLOVERS, 40 BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVERS, 2 juvenile SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 3 SANDERLING, a couple of
SPOTTED SANDPIPERS, and one WHIMBREL.

Thursday, August 2, 11:57 AM - This is Steve Dang again. For anyone planning
to go to Jetty Island between today and this Sunday, the 5th. The optimum
time to view shorebirds on the mudflats is around three hours before high
tide. The tides in Everett are the same as they are in Seattle. Also, if the
weather is crummy, you might want to call ahead to make sure there hasn't
been a ferry cancellation. The number to call is 425-257-8304.

Thursday, August 2, 12:49 PM - This is Allen Grenon, 206-329-5996. Just came
back from Monthlake Fill. There were a few shorebirds near the gravel
central parking lot in a small puddle just to the east. A few LEAST
SANDPIPERS and one limping SOLITARY SANDPIPER.
