Dear Tweeters,
I am glad that Greg Toffic mentioned the access
to Jensen Access issue. I recall the Jensen Access as
a very narrow public area, with obvious "Posted" signs
right and left. I assume the the access is still
limited to this relatively tiny public hunting area,
and that birders continue to respect private property.

PS I can't help adding, regarding the white Red-tailed
Hawk, that my family and I used to enjoy seeing such a
partial albino (or whatever term fits best) Redtail,
on Highway 20 just east of Sedro-Woolley, in the early
1990's. The kids used to get a kick out of looking for
"Alby," which was our pet name for the bird. It used
to hang out in some fields where certain people
traditionally look for hallucinogenic mushrooms,
continuing the mystic connection...
PPS Thanks to whoever posted the Doonesbury site. I
enjoyed (and remembered) that series of comics about
that birder missing a Bachman's Warbler. I seem to
recall that there was a continuation of that plotline
later, in which the birder character actually did see
the species--in Yosemite! Trudeau inserted a bit of
dialogue in which the character acknowledged the
improbablility of seeing that species in that habitat,
out of range. Then the character died, presumably
going straight to birders' Nirvana.
