Yesterday at the Jensen Access on Fir Island at 7pm there were:

106 black-bellied plover
1 semi-palmated sandpiper
61semi-palmated plover
400+ least sandpipers
200+ western sandpipers
3 lesser yellowlegs
80 dowitchers
7 greater yellowlegs

The birds (minus the yellowlegs) were out in the plowed field at the
corner of Fir Island Road and Maupin Road. The field was viewed from the
dyke - the fences and posted signs are now gone. However maybe they will
return when hunting starts on Sep 1.

Out on the water were 202 common mergansers and there seems to have been
a big influx of ring-billed gulls since my last visit here on Sunday.

At Moore Road / Mann Road pond at Skagit City there were only 2 killdeer
and a spotted sandpiper.

At Sammish W-90 the pond closest to the parking lot was empty.

BTW does anybody know whether walking through the crop fields at W-90 is
allowed ?

Rain today, birds tomorrow !!!!
