Saddle Mountain State Park, Clatsop County, Oregon
August 4, 2001

Sean Burgett and I put together a team of amphibian
hunters and went up to survey the area on the west and
north sides of Saddle Mountain. We managed all of the
target species and then some. Most impressive were
the numbers COPE'S GIANT SALAMANDERS and TAILED FROGS
and the ease with which we found them (partly because
we brought along 8-year old Evan Cain and nobody finds
herps like an 8-year old).

I think I have the right numbers, Sean may have seen
additional individuals he didn't tell me about.
