Hi,

I spent a few hours walking the south end of Spencer
Island this evening from about 5:00 until about 8:00.
Not too much shorbird activity. A few warblers were
noted, perhaps some were migrants. Most were
encountered as singles although there was one loosely
associated group of atleast 2 YELLOW WARBLERS, a
WILSON'S WARBLER and a COMMON YELLOWTROAT. Another
Highlight was at least 4 EASTERN KINGBIRDS encountered
at the east end of the dike, atleast two of which were
young birds. It appears that this species nested on
the island again this year.

Shorebirds encountered during this time included 2
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, a single LEAST SANDPIPER, and
a LESSER YELLOWLEGS as well as the usual killdeers.

Most of the ducks seen were MALLARDS however there
were a few GREEN-WINGED TEAL as well as BLUE-WINGED
TEAL and GADWALL.
