Sightings for Monday, August 6

Today at the foot of 104th on Boundary Bay was an unexpected adult PARASITIC
JAEGER. The bird flew to the east harassing anything it came upon then about
112th changed direction flying inland towards Hwy 99. Also in the area was
an OSPREY.

The GREAT EGRET is still frequenting Willband Creek Park near the
intersection of Hwy 11 and Bateman Rd. in Abbotsford.

A WILSON'S PHALAROPE was reported from the Reifel Refuge.

Sunday, August 5

The REEVE was relocated at the Mansion, which is midway between 88th & 96th
on Boundary Bay. Also seen was an AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER. A RED KNOT was
seen near the foot of 88th.

Observed from the Tsawwassen Jetty were the WILLET & 3 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS.

The SOLITARY SANDPIPER was seen at Iona along with 2 juvenile BAIRD'S
SANDPIPERS. The breeding plumaged WANDERING TATTLER was reported at various
locations near and at the Jetty tip.

Saturday, August 4

A REEVE was seen near the Mansion on Boundary Bay. Also at this location
were a Golden PLOVER and 3 RED KNOTS.

At the Iona ponds were the SOLITARY SANDPIPER & 150+ LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS.
A WANDERING TATTLER was observed at the tip of the Iona south Jetty.

Two PURPLE MARTINS were reported from Farm Slough at Blackie Spit.

A TURKEY VUTURE and a GREEN HERON were seen at Surrey's Derby Reach.

Friday, August 3

A GREAT EGRET was reported east of the intersection of Hwy 11 and Bateman
Rd. in Abbotsford.

A juvenile RED KNOT was seen between 104 & 112th on Boundary Bay.

Thursday, August 2

A SOLITARY SANDPIPER was seen at the Iona Ponds.

Wednesday, August 1

A SOLITARY SANDPIPER was reported from the Reifel Refuge along with 9
SANDHILL CRANES, & 2 GREAT HORNED OWLS.

Two BARN OWLS were seen working the fields in the old subdivision north of
the BB airport.

At the Tsawwassen Jetty compensation lagoon were 7 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS, &
280+ CASPIAN TERNS. An OSPREY was seen at the end of the Robert's Bank
Coalport Jetty.
