Today after work I headed for Skagit County to look for shorebirds. I found
the PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER that Steve Mlodinow reported Sunday and Rachel
Lawson reported yesterday. It was exactly where Rachel saw the bird on
Bayview-Edison Road just north of Darcy road on the Samish Flats. The bird
was with several KILLDEER. In the field to the north were 6 HORNED LARKS
and 3 AMERICAN PIPITS.

On the West 90 ponds were WESTERN and LEAST SANDPIPERS. Also a RED-NECKED
PHALAROPE, one LESSER YELLOWLEGS, one PECTORAL SANDPIPER, both DOWITCHERS
(both were vocal), and a BAIRD'S SANDPIPER. The pond nearest the parking
lot is drying up fast.
