I have read about people seeing egrets, and not thought a lot about it.
Today a friend and I went to Gardner beach, where I go a lot for birds.
I was very surprised to see a great egret! First one I have seen outside of
California.
We both took pictures of the egret. Had both Peterson's and Sibley's books
with me. The bird had the long neck, black/dark lege and feet, yellow bill
slightly down curved. We watched it for about 20 minutes.
