The Cowbirds are banding together in preparation for migration. I get
one or two in my bird banding traps off and on this summer, but
yesterday, I had 13 birds of the year all in one trap and today another
7 in the same trap.

Interesting how they find each other and band together when undoubtedly
they were raised individually in scattered hosts' nests. What's that
about birds of a feather banding together?

They are getting much more common here in the past 10 years. Some of it
might be attributed to people with feeders not paying too much attention
to what they're feeding. Cowbirds are opportunists. Like the Canada
Geese in Seattle.
