Hi all,
In my first birding since returning to Washington State this week, I took a run down to the fill after signing in at the AOU meetings. There were about 15 peeps around the central pond, all leasts except that there were 3 semipalmated sandpipers. This seemed a little unusual to me, but maybe I've been gone for so long I forgot about the timing of this species through Western Washington. Is mid august an usual date for 3 semipamlated sandpipers in Seattle?
One even was nice enough to call as it flew in, this was about 5 pm this evening. A nice treat for my first washington birding in a while.
