Hi all,
What a great sighting Franny Drobny had of a Lynx in the North Cascades!!! Mitch Friedman's great group (NW Ecosystem Alliance) is constantly bringing up Lynx, much to their credit, but this is the first time I've ever heard of anyone actually seeing one (Go Tweeters!).
I am in no way questioning the sighting, but am curious about what field marks were used, because I'm curious about this subject in anticipation of ever having to decide myself. Lynx, which I've never seen in the wild, seem to be so much more long-legged than Bobcats, which don't look lanky at all but totally sqaure in build. I've read that the black going all the way around the tail on the Bobcat but not on the Lynx is the only definitive way to tell them apart but I'm sure that author was only blowing smoke.
