Thanks to everyone who responded! The number of messages I received was
astonishing and every one had a bit of information the others didn't.
Besides which, they all made me feel like my request was welcome and they
want to share their knowledge no matter what level my interest might be.

Not only did I get the information I was seeking but Gary Bletsch mentioned
he had checked one out from a library. Since I have no time to order one, I
did the same this afternoon. I checked out "A Guide to Bird Finding in
Washington" by Terence Wahl and Dennis Paulson, as well as Diann McRae's
"Birder's Guide to Washington".
