Samish Flats, 3.10pm - 6.15pm

In the area around the W-90 Ponds - most of the western sandpipers were
flying past, though around 200 were moving between the 2 ponds furthest
away from the parking lot which still had quite a lot of water. Most of
the birds of prey were soaring around the poplar plantation to the east
of the parking lot.

5 red-tailed hawks
2 rough-legged hawks
1 Cooper's hawk
2 peregrine falcons
4 northern harriers
1 turkey vulture
3 juv. red necked phalaropes
700+ western sandpipers
4 Baird's sandpipers
10+ least sandpipers
23 long-billed dowitchers
5 great blue herons
1 lesser yellowlegs
300+ mallard
30+ green-winged teal.

In the plowed field next to the red barn on Bayview Edison Road about
1/4 north of the junction with D'arcy Road:

1 pacific golden plover
7 semi-palmated plover
54 killdeer
1 american pipit
8 horned larks
3 Baird's sandpipers
21 ravens

Skagit Flats 6.45 - 8.00pm - the killdeer and bb plovers were in the
plowed field on the west side of Fir Island Road just north of the
junction with Maupin Road. Everything else was in the plowed field at
Jensen Access.

15+ killdeer
84 black-bellied plover
2-3 Baird's sandpipers
500+ western sandpipers
100+ least sandpipers
30+ semi-palmated plover
2 long-billed dowitchers
2 greater yellowlegs
1 red-tailed hawk.
