Subject: Kahlotus Lake

Hi Tweeters:
On Sunday, Aug. 19, my wife and I birded Kahlotus Lake with the following results:

G. egret 17
G. blue heron many
Black-crowned night heron 1a + 2i
Numerous ducks and Canada geese which we mostly ignored.
N. harrier 2
Am. kestrel 1
Killdeer many
G. yellowlegs many
L. yellowlegs several
Semipalmated sandpiper at least 2
W. sandpiper a few
Least sandpiper several
Baird's sandpiper several
Pectoral sandpiper at least 3
Red-necked phalarope 6
E. kingbird 6
Savannah sparrow a few
Yellow-headed blackbird several

That's about it for the list. Watch the "dry ground." It isn't as dry as it appears.
