Date: August 17, 2001
Location: Lake Sammamish State Park, King County, Washington

Wind direction: Variable
Prevailing wind speed: 1-5 km/h
Percentage of sky covered by clouds: 100%

The following list was tallied from about 7 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. on
Friday, August 17th while I was staying at Issaquah and attending the
American Ornithologists' Union meeting in Seattle. I was too late for
the "early morning birding" at the Montlake Fill, so decided to see
what I could find in Lake Sammamish State Park instead.

As noted by Michael Hobbs at Marymoor Park on August 15 (opposite end
of Lake Sammamish), things were very quiet. The only thing that
seemed a bit unusual to me was the presence of two RED-EYED VIREOS,
both still vigorously singing-- a bit late in the season for this!
