Today I birded Skagit County for shorebirds. Results:

Jensen Access on Fir Island 8AM
BAIRD'S SANDPIPER 4
AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER 1 in near breeding plumage
The above birds were in the field east of the drive to the parking area.

Moore/Skagit City Pond 9AM
SPOTTED SANDPIPER 1
GREATER YELLOWLEGS 3
PECTORAL SANDPIPER 1 (this bird was feeding like a STILT SANDPIPER, very
"sewing machine" like; at times the entire head was submerged. But a Pec,
nonetheless.

West 90 Ponds
BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER 1 juv; This bird was on the third pond. I observed
it fly in by itself at 11:00. Very long wings which were very white
underneath. I watched it off and on until 1:15PM. Also watching this bird
were other birders including Sam Terry & his parents and Steve & Gayle
Ascanian. The bird fed along the pond's edge then retreated to the
vegetation surrounding the pond where it walked around, occasionally
disappearing from view for a few minutes. Then it would reappear. All
buffy head with a large dark eye. Buffy unstreaked breast and yellow legs.
Very scaly back. Bill was relatively short, straight and dark.
