BIRDS REPORTED:

Usual but infrequent feeder birds plus Townsend's Solitaire &
White-throated Sparrow
Bald Eagle

Barrow's Goldeneye, Common Goldeneye
2 Cattle Egret

This is the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society Bird Alert for December 7,

The following are feeder and backyard observations: Laurie Ness had a
TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE on November 22, as well as a continuing WINTER WREN
and some PINE SISKINS. Margaret Greger had a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH on
November 24 and December 5. Her PINE SISKINS remain and a DOWNY WOODPECKER
was present on December 5. Bill & Nancy LaFramboise had a WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW on December 2. Bob Woodley reported 2 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, a
male VARIED THRUSH, a male SPOTTED TOWHEE, a "slate-colored" DARK-EYED
JUNCO, and several PINE SISKINS between December 2 and 5.

On November 25, Katie Harris observed an immature BALD EAGLE in Columbia
Park in Kennewick.

Dustin Kelley reported an immature GOLDEN EAGLE at Sacajawea State Park
near Pasco on November 30. He has supported this observation with details
of limited white on the base of the primaries. Bald Eagles were also
present for comparison.

Bob Woodley reported a male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE and 6 COMMON GOLDENEYES
north of Nelson Island off of Groves Park in Richland on December 3.

Two CATTLE EGRETS have been on private property in Burbank since November
19. If you wish to see these birds, please contact Kim Lawrence at
544-0892 and she will give you directions. Please use proper birding
etiquette & appreciate her generosity.

The Tri-Cities Christmas Bird Count is being held on December 29. For more
