The Ivory Gull was at its most usual location this morning. I arrived at
about 11:30 and the bird was very distantly visible on "it's barge" thru
a scope from across the water. About 5 minutes later when I got to the
barge location, the three birders already there said "it was visible
until about 5 seconds ago". About 15 seconds later the bird walked out
from around the end of the barge and stood in full view for us. After 30
seconds or so it proceeded to walk down the barge in our general
direction. Pretty bird, all white with the exception of the black legs
and feet, the smudgy yellowish bill, a few blackish flecks around the
very black eye. It seemed to have a reddish "stain" on the birds left
side above the bill - remains of yesterdays meal? For the next 35
minutes the bird was mostly in full view, occasionally being obscured by
a pipe on the barge. At one point a Glaucous-winged Gull was on top of
the pipe immediately above the Ivory Gull. Nice comparison. The bird was
still on the barge when I left at 12:15.

As I drove out I noticed a Eurasian Wigeon in the American Wigeon flock
at the waters edge just as you join the main road out.
