Today it was too nice to stay indoors, so I went to Spencer Island in the
late morning.

There were COMMON REDPOLLS in the area near the green dumpster by the
bridge, seen by me and several other birders. The ones I saw were in a
flock of Pine Siskins, but I think others also saw another small flock
without siskins. The siskin flock was very flighty and didn't stay around
for long.

At the far east end, right where the east-west dike crosses a bridge and
rejoins the loop, a drake EURASIAN X GREEN-WINGED TEAL interegrade/hybrid
was lurking around among the drowned trees. This bird had the horizontal
white line bordered in black on the scapulars but also a hint of the
vertical white line on the side of the breast, about 1/4 the length of that
of a typical Green-winged Teal.
