Todd Thornton and I went to Steve Warner's house and
got one good look at his oriole before it disappeared
for the morning. It appears to be a 1st winter male
BULLOCK'S ORIOLE.

Head- Yellow-orange with dusky crown. Black mark extending
from lore to just behind the eye. Bill bicolored black above,
gray below. Black bib from chin at base of bill to about
mid breast. Auricular and cheeks yellow-orange.
Breast- yellowish
Belly- whitish
Undertail coverts- yellow
Mantle- Gray-green with diffuse darker streaks.
Wing coverts- dark gray with two promenent white wing bars,
Primaries- dark gray
Tail- brown with paler outer margins
Legs- black

The bird is coming to Steve's hanging suet feeder and may be
associated with EUROPEAN STARLINGS.
